Going to a party as a queer person can make you feel vulnerable. How do we build places where people can feel safe, authentic and free to express their identities? This debate panel was created in collaboration with the Brno-based collective EERIE.
This debate touched difficult topics of chemsex, consent, harm reduction and prevention of sexual violence from the perspective of personal stories and expertise of lawyer from the In Iustitia, an organisation helping victims with legal support.
There are many queer organizations in Brno which develop local community and culture. Q-Hub invited them to present their work and speak about possible space for collaboration and support.
Is queer literature emerging genre? What effect does the queer literature have on the readers? And is queer literature supported by publishers? We tried to answer these and more in the talk for which we were joined by Marek Torčík (Rozložíš paměť), Barbora Klimtová (Paseka), Tereza Eliášová (CooBoo) and Filip Titlbach in the beautiful space of Martinus.
We all know that amazing feeling when we see in the media a character that we deeply resonate with, connect with and in some way see ourselves in it. In this debate we tried to touch topics of representation, stereotypes and phenomena of queer topics in media.
In the Living Library we were joined by a group created at the Department of Social Pedagogy MUNI PED. They shared with us personal stories of five young adults and their experience with being queer in the educational system.
